Capcom provided a new look at Dragon's Dogma 2 yesterday during a dedicated showcase, along with confirming a March 22 release date, which leaked two weeks ago.

The long-awaited sequel arrives on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on March 22 and the game can be pre-ordered now.

During the showcase, Dragon’s Dogma 2 director Hideaki Itsuno and producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi unveiled the new trailer featuring gameplay alongside the new Trickster Vocation. The trailer showed new enemies and deeper insights into the story and gameplay choices you will make as you delve deeper into the game's world.

With its all-star cast, emotional storytelling, and regular sarcastic quips, Baldur's Gate 3 can sometimes feel a bit like a Hollywood film and, thanks to a new mod, you can now turn it into one. Well, sort of.

Remember Jeff Goldblum’s bare chest? Sorry, remember Dr Ian Malcolm’s bare chest? It was in Jurassic Park. A bunch of dinosaurs were also in Jurassic Park and, inspired by the film, one modder’s just added an array of new velociraptor-themed summons to the game.

The mod in question is fittingly called ‘Jurassic Gate’ and is the work of Star-EMC2, who has previously created some fresh summons for druids and sorcerers that might’ve gone off the deep end a bit. This time they’ve cooked up a “Jurassic DNA potion” that’ll allow you to “summon Jurassic beasts to rip your enemies to shreds!”.

It might barely be a look at all, but we've still received our first look at Sonic the Hedgehog 3's Shadow the Hedgehog.

Well, if we're being technical, this is sort of our second look at him, as we did see him in a post credits scene at the end of Sonic the Hedgehog 2. But, in this new shot of the black and red edge-hog, as shared by the film's director Jeff Fowler on his personal Twitter, we do get a look at Shadow's signature kicks. You can even spot one of the boosters on the base of his shoes that let him keep up to speed with the likes of Sonic. And a look at the clapper board seen in the image also shows the film's logo, which just so happens to resemble the classic Sonic Adventure 2 logo.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is currently slated to release December 20, 2024, though due to the SAG-AFTRA strike it so far hasn't filmed with any actors yet. Some filming minus any SAG actors was started back in September, but there's no word on when filming is set to resume. Ben Schwartz, Colleen O'Shaughnessey, and Idris Elba are set to return as Sonic, Miles, and Knuckles respectively, alongside James Marsden as Tom Wachowski, and Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski. There's still no word on who might be playing Shadow himself, though, so we'll have to wait for an official confirmation there.

Twitter users have uncovered an advert for a Mexican fast food chain selling a pizza, spagetti, and cola combo with help from King of Fighter's very own Iori. Sold with the tag: "Not even Iori has this combo", it's the latest example Mexico's legendary love of the King of Fighters series.

It may not sound like a real thing, but it is! This love affair stems from the arcade era of gaming, when the fighting game genre had its largest impact on gaming culture in general. While countries like Japan and America had a vast choice of arcade options, Mexico had neither the access nor the money to spend big on luxurious cabs.

As such, the Neo Geo cartridge cabinet became the go-to. And with it, King of Fighters. From there the popularity of KoF grew. After saucy fans of Cult of the Lamb had their hopes and dreams of a smutty update dashed by the game's community manager earlier this month, it looks like the spark of hope has been re-ignited for a sex update. That, or the game's social media manager is jumping in on the gag.

If this all sounds confusing to you, here's what's going on. Cult of the Lamb is due its final update soon: "Sins of the Flesh". Due to the name, some fans were worried and/or excited that the game would be getting some sausage time as a closing feature, bringing life to the "sex update" meme. This was later denied by the game's community manager, but by then news of the mystical sex update had hit the zeitgeist.

Fast forward to today, and a new post from the offficial Cult of the Lamb Twitter account has jumped in on the joke, offering to add sex to the game if the account passes 300,000 followers. It obviously soon shot past that milestone - rekindling hope for weird relgious animal shagging in everyone's immediate future.

After deep-sixing Hyenas out of the blue earlier this year, Sega has revealed that it plans to have Creative Assembly redirect its attention towards genres that it’s already proven itself in going forwards.

The Japanese publisher cancelled the multiplayer FPS and a number of other unannounced titles back in September, having made the decision following a review conducted “in response to the lower profitability of the European region”. In a statement posted to Twitter in the aftermath of the move, Creative Assembly suggested that Sega’s choice hadn’t been easy to accept and alluded to its plans for the game being “ambitious”.

Now, as reported by VGC, Sega Sammy Holdings president and CEO Haruki Satomi has shed more light on what happened to the game in the publisher’s eyes, as part of a recent financial results briefing presentation.

When Blizzard revealed Diablo 4's first expansion at BlizzCon earlier this month, the developer left out one crucial detail. We know that Vessel of Hatred is targeting a late-2024 launch, and we know that it's adding a new region to the game along with a class that's never been in a Diablo game before.

But what we don't know is how much Vessel of Hatred is going to cost, and it looks like Blizzard is working on nailing one (or several) price points.

According to a leaked survery shared by Bellular News on YouTube (via Try Hard Guides), Blizzard has been asking some players a lot of questions about monetisation when it comes to future Diablo 4 DLC and expansions - though without naming Vessel of Hatred specifically.

It goes without saying that most of the hulking mechs and killer bots you battle in Armored Core 6 are pretty large lads, but if you’ve ever wondered exactly how their heights compare to Elden Ring’s protagonist, a new video offers the answer.

Yup, the same iconic FromSoft community member who went to the trouble of modding a single mech into Elden Ring earlier this year just to try and get an idea of how it stacks up size-wise in comparison to bosses like Radahn is back at it again. However, this time they’ve taken on a bit of a larger task, having taken advantage of the fact the games use the same core engine to add almost every enemy from AC6 into Elden Ring’s world.

Zullie the Witch’s latest project is designed to cater to fans who’ve been kept up at night by size-based quandaries concerning the two games. “I've been asked by many viewers to show the size of various different Armored Core models compared to the Tarnished, so here's a video with pretty much the full enemy roster imported into Elden Ring,” the modder explains.

Despite recent reports, Warner Bros. Discovery's streaming service Max won't be kicking Looney Tunes to the curb.

Earlier this week, when Warner Bros. Discovery announced what films and TV series would be coming and going from Max in December, which included the entirety of its Looney Tunes catalogue as part of what's leaving. While disappointing to many, it wasn't exactly surprising, as Warner Bros. Discovery has been on a bit of a kick since the companies' merger with getting rid of various properties it owns the rights to on its own streaming service. However, as reported by Variety, it turns out that this was just a mistake, with Looney Tunes inclusion in the list of titles being removed as a mistake.

"Please note - a revised What’s New on Max This December press release can be found below," reads a statement from Max. "'Looney Tunes' was included in error as a title leaving the platform. This is not the case and the show will continue streaming on Max." That doesn't mean everything Looney Tunes is staying no Max, though. Looney Tunes: Back in Action, the 2003, not-quite-sequel to Space Jam, live action, animation hybrid starring Bredan Fraser is still leaving, a decision that is again, unsurprising, but still silly.

Disney and FX's upcoming Alien TV series has added The Mandalorian's Timothy Olyphant to its cast.

Earlier this week, Deadline reported that Olyphant is joining the Noah Hawley Alien series in a major role, joining Don't Worry Darling's Sydney Chandler in the prequel show. Currently there's no word on what we can expect Olyphant's character to be like, though according to Deadline he'll be playing a character called Kirsh, a synth, who takes the role of a mentor towards Chandler's character Wendy, a "hybrid, a meta-human who has the brain and consciousness of a child but the body of an adult."

The series is set before the original Alien film, and is also set to be the first time the franchise has actually been set on earth, supposedly 70 years from our future. It started shooting earlier this year in July, though without any SAG-AFTRA members like Chandler. Deadline also reported that filming is likely to resume in early 2024, now that the SAG-AFTRA strike is over, with Hawley sharing that a January or February start date is being considered.

Xbox is cheekily teasing that it has some “important announcements” planned for this year’s Game Awards show, which seems like a good plan following what’s been a bit of a bumpy 2023 for the publisher.

Despite having finally gotten its deal to acquire Activision Blizzard over the line, Xbox is arguably in need of some good news - at least from a perception standpoint - on the release front, after putting a lot of its recent eggs in the Starfield basket. Thankfully, while Bethesda is busy trying to convince unhappy Steam reviewers that space isn’t boring, Microsoft’s decided to cheekily begin building up hype for what it’ll do on December 7.

In some promotional materials it’s been sending out ahead of the potentially world premiere-free showcase, Xbox suggested that there’ll be some “important announcements and other Xbox news that you don’t want to miss” at the show.

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off's studio appears to be on a roll with its adaptations at the moment, as it looks to tackle the popular paranormal rom-com Dandadan.

Do you believe in ghosts? How about aliens? What if you think one of them is real but your friend is convinced the other is, and you become determined to prove that you're right, but maybe you both are? That's kind of Dandadan in a nutshell, a popular manga currently serialised in Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ digital manga magazine, published in English by Viz Media. Now, Science Saru, the studio behind the seriously good (and radically different) Scott Pilgrim Takes Off and the much darker Devilman Crybaby, is taking on the hit manga as its next anime project.

A short trailer for the upcoming series, set to be released in 2024, was shown off earlier this week, and while it's brief, it's certainly looking extremely stylish. Though given how strong the rest of Science Saru's output is, that isn't exactly surprising. Fuga Yamashiro is directing the series, who previously worked on the studio's Tatami Time Machine Blues, and Hiroshi Seko (Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen) is on script duties. One of my personal favourite composers in the anime industry, Kensuke Ushio (Chainsaw Man, Devilman Crybaby), is also attached to the project.

The "largest part" of the development team at CD Projekt Red is working on The Witcher 4, or whatever it will be titled.

This was confirmed by the company's CFO today in a financial results video.

"Regarding production tasks, the largest part of our dev team is working on Polaris, the first installment of the new Witcher game trilogy," said Piotr Nielubowicz.

Ahead of the Dragon's Dogma 2 showcase today, the release date for Capcom's upcoming RPG sequel has been posted to the game's Steam page.

According to the Steam page, the game is set for release on March 21, 2024 - a day ahead of what the PEGI rating stated two weeks ago.

What we know about the game is that, like Dragon's Dogma, the sequel will be a single-player game with Pawns at your side, making it feel like a co-op title. Secondly, it will again feature role-playing mechanics set in an open-world environment.

EAFC 24 has roared back to the head of the UK physical sales charts following Black Friday, likely due to the fact it was being sold for a lot less money in a lot of places during that week.

Yes, that’s right. Having previously slumped to third, behind at least one game that I’ll deliberately not be naming here, EA FC has restored balance to the universe by becoming the official Lord of shifting little discs inside plastic boxes on plague island once again.

As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, a 101% increase in sales was what did the deed, with most of these coming on PS5. Given that the physical version of the game was being sold for £41.99 instead of the usual £69.99 on that platform and Xbox Series X/S at several retailers as part of Black Friday deals, odds are that probably helped a bit.

A first look at Amazon Prime Video's Fallout TV series has been released and yeah, it sure does look like people dressed up in Fallout outfits!

This first look comes courtesy of Vanity Fair, who also spoke with both showrunner Johnathon Nolan (yes, he is related to that other Nolan) and Bethesda's one and only Todd Howard about the upcoming series. The images released do feature some classic Fallout iconography, such as the blue and yellow jumpsuits, and the instantly recognisable power armour. To be potentially a bit unfair to the series, in still images it's mostly looking like an expensive cosplay shoot, but the costuming is looking pretty good so far at the very least.

The series has some pretty big and upcoming names amongst the cast too, with Yellowjacket's Ella Purnell taking on the lead role of Lucy, alongside Twin Peaks' Kyle MacLachlan as her father Hank, the overseer of the vault they live in. Alongside Lucy as a protagonist, who's described as "nice, but naive," there's Aaron Moten as Maximus, who was raised within the Brotherhood of Steel. Lastly, Walton Goggins, who also appeared in another video game adaptation, 2018's Tomb Raider, is also starring in the show as a character only known as The Ghoul.

As a certified old man, at least in video game industry years (which aren’t that dissimilar to dog years), it should come as no surprise that I love a retro handheld. Everyone in their thirties does.

Everyone my age has fond memories of handheld gaming systems, be that Game Boys or vaguely crap Tiger Electronics LCD games, or whatever esle. To my younger self, the idea of carrying around a huge selection of my favorite games at once without the fear of losing a cartridge case packed with hundreds of pounds worth of software was a dream. Losing one cart was bad enough – rest in peace to my wayward copy of Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins, lost on some shopping trip or another – carrying around everything you owned was too much to bear.

Fast forward a couple of decades and, obviously, it’s all rather trivial. The phone in my pocket has more processing power than the computers that helped to pilot the planes that I was terrified of leaving my Game Boy behind on when going on holiday. ‘Epic’ 16-meg cartridge games now take up less storage space than the photo you casually snap to humble-brag about your dinner in the group chat.

Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of NBA 2K publisher 2K Games, is being sued over how the basketball series handles microtransactions.

One of the suit’s main complaints revolves around the inability to transfer any virtual currency you’ve bought from older entries in the series to the newer ones that’re regularly put out via its annual release cycle. This can sometimes leave players unable to access the virtual funds they’ve paid for.

As reported by Axios, the suit in question was filed in a Californian federal court on November 17 by a minor who’s being represented by their mother. It argues that Take-Two’s current approach to microtransactions in NBA 2K games is “unfair, illegal and greedy”, accusing the company of violating California's civil theft statutes.
